Upcoming trainings and courses in the Learning & Development Academy by Grant Thornton Aruba
As part of GT in the Community 2024, Grant Thornton Aruba was excited to join Aruba Doet, coming together with two local organizations to make a difference in our community and environment. Each year, Aruba Doet brings people across the island together in a spirit of volunteerism, helping with everything from painting and repairs to organizing events that bring new life to schools, foundations, and community spaces. Grant Thornton Aruba takes great pride in supporting Aruba Doet and giving back each year.
This year, our team had the privilege of supporting two projects that align with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) focus areas: children, education, community care, and environmental preservation. One of our groups volunteered at Fundashon Siñami Paso Pa Paso, a foundation that supports children with speech and motor skills development. Their facilities needed repairs and maintenance, and our team was thrilled to help out by painting, fixing and cleaning up their space, creating a brighter, safer environment for the children and staff. This work reflects Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which is all about making inclusive, accessible spaces for everyone.
Our second team joined Ban Lanta y Planta in their mission to support reforestation in Aruba. We helped plant trees to restore Aruba’s natural landscapes and support local biodiversity, which ties into SDG 15: Life on Land. Planting these trees was a hands-on way to contribute to Aruba’s environment and address important sustainability goals.
At Grant Thornton Aruba, Corporate Social Responsibility is more than just an annual project—it is part of our company culture and values. We focus on projects that support the community, from caring for children and families to preserving the island’s environment. Being part of Aruba Doet 2024 was a meaningful way for us to support SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 11, and SDG 15. It also brought our team together in a rewarding experience that truly reflects what Grant Thornton Aruba stands for: working together to make a positive impact in our community.
